Who we are
Burleigh Kids is the children’s ministry of Burleigh Heads Church of Christ, partnering with families to help children know and follow Jesus. Through engaging programs, Bible teaching and pastoral care, we create a safe and welcoming space where kids are loved, encouraged and discipled in the ways of Jesus.
Weekly Kids Church:
Every Sunday morning during school term, our fun and engaging Kids Church program runs alongside the main service. Through interactive Bible teaching, worship, games, discussion, and activities, children are encouraged to grow in their understanding of God and the ways of Jesus. Our caring team of Burleigh Kids Leaders and Helpers are passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and joy-filled environment for every child.
Godly Play:
On the first Sunday of each month, our Kids Church program uses Godly Play — a unique and reflective approach to children’s spiritual formation. Through creative storytelling, wondering and hands-on exploration, children are invited to engage deeply with the stories of the Bible and the heart of the Christian faith. Using a Montessori-inspired style, Godly Play creates space for curiosity, imagination and sitting quietly with God. Through this gentle and thoughtful approach, children are encouraged to develop a deeper awareness of God’s presence and their place within His story.
Movers & Shakers:
Movers & Shakers is a fun and welcoming musical playgroup for children aged 0–5 and their parents, grandparents and carers. Held every Monday morning during school term, sessions include free play, singing, dancing, music, movement and instruments — all designed for little ones to learn, play and burn some energy while grown-ups connect over coffee and conversation.
It’s a relaxed and joyful space for families to build friendships and community. Sessions run from 9:30–11:30am and cost $5 per family, including a coffee voucher for our Op Shop coffee cart. We’d love to welcome you along!
