A Gift to remember
It seems that around this time every year, we hear a common question. “Where has the year gone?”
Yes, 2009 is almost over, Christmas is ‘just around the corner’ and, before we know it, 2010 will be here.
We are living in a fast paced world and I’m sure there are many of us who would simply like everything to slow down if even for a few days so we can take time to review what is actually going on.
However, in all of that, we as Christians know that our God is in control of the times, He has our best interest at heart and therefore, there is nothing that is happening in this world that we, by His grace cannot handle or come out on top in.
This Christmas we encourage you to seek to take that step back, look to Him whose birth we celebrate at this time of the year and give thanks that He did come into the world to redeem us, He did do all that was necessary to make that redemption perfect in the Father’s eyes and that, now, He DOES continue to care for us through His intercession for us at all times and through the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
It is important at this time of the year to look beyond the tinsel, the commercialism, the hype and the Christmas rush to once again realise that God loved a broken world so much that He sent His only begotten Son, a sacrifice so great that even our most powerful definition of love cannot compare.
Take time this year to meditate on that and, in turn, demonstrate love to others in a way that will cause them to have to think about the ‘reason for the season’
We wish each of you and your family a very blessed Christmas season and a new year that will see us blessing God in our witness to a world that is so much in need of the reality of Jesus, the One who came to redeem because of God’s amazing love.
